Feed forward neural network entities

چکیده
Feed Forward Neural Networks (FFNNs) are computational techniques inspired by the physiology of the brain and used in the approximation of general mappings from one nite dimensional space to another. They present a practical application of the theoretical resolution of Hilbert's 13 th problem by Kolmogorov and Lorenz, and have been used with success in a variety of applications. However, as the training data grows in both dimension and size, larger network implementations are required. As a consequence, in most cases scaling problems arise; the existing training algorithms can not handle the vast search space, saturation occurs at the output of the hidden layer nodes and, in general, the network becomes innexible, slow and ineecient. Considering all of the above, we are proposing a methodology for breaking down the traditionally single and rigid FFNN into an entity of simpler units, in line with the connectionist view of the distributive representation of knowledge and using Kolmogorov's paradigm of approximating functions of many variables by compositions of one-variable functions. Although the entities' concept is still developing, some preliminary results indicate superiority over the single FFNN model when applicable to problems involving high-dimensional data (e.g. nancial/meteorological data analysis, etc.).

Global Solar Radiation Prediction for Makurdi, Nigeria Using Feed Forward Backward Propagation Neural Network
The optimum design of solar energy systems strongly depends on the accuracy of solar radiation data. However, the availability of accurate solar radiation data is undermined by the high cost of measuring equipment or non-functional ones. This study developed a feed-forward backpropagation artificial neural network model for prediction of global solar radiation in Makurdi, Nigeria (7.7322 N lo...
متن کاملSignal Prediction by Layered Feed - Forward Neural Network (RESEARCH NOTE).
In this paper a nonparametric neural network (NN) technique for prediction of future values of a signal based on its past history is presented. This approach bypasses modeling, identification, and parameter estimation phases that are required by conventional parametric techniques. A multi-layer feed forward NN is employed. It develops an internal model of the signal through a training operation...

Utilization of membrane humidifiers is one of the methods commonly used to humidify reactant gases in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). In this study, polymeric porous membranes with different compositions were prepared to be used in a membrane humidifier module and were employed in a humidification test. Three different neural network models were developed to investigate several...
متن کاملModeling SMA actuated systems based on Bouc-Wen hysteresis model and feed-forward neural network
Despite the fact that shape-memory alloy (SMA) has several mechanical advantages as it continues being used as an actuator in engineering applications, using it still remains as a challenge since it shows both non-linear and hysteretic behavior. To improve the efficiency of SMA application, it is required to do research not only on modeling it, but also on control hysteresis behavior of these m...
متن کاملModeling of Resilient Modulus of Asphalt Concrete Containing Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement using Feed-Forward and Generalized Regression Neural Networks
Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is one of the waste materials that highway agencies promote to use in new construction or rehabilitation of highways pavement. Since the use of RAP can affect the resilient modulus and other structural properties of flexible pavement layers, this paper aims to employ two different artificial neural network (ANN) models for modeling and evaluating the effects of ...
